Over a lifetime, we grow through many versions of ourselves. The ones we thought fit us perfectly, and the ones others thought we embody. We often wait for a sign, the right timing, but in reality, there’s no such thing as being ready. Just like nature goes through different seasons—cycles of rebirth—humans do as well. Shedding the layers we don’t need anymore to create space for the new. Rebirth is a period of growth – and so is this first print issue of ODE. A revival at times, a pure feeling at others. There is no one definition; it’s a word with multiple meanings. Some might think of a spiritual journey, being born for a second time in a new body, others solely connect the word to new beginnings. For us, it’s both and beyond. It’s about embracing the unknown, the pain and the hardship that comes with the process of rebirth. It’s about courage and the will to break out of ruts and routines. A wind of change and new energy is what we—as humans and creatives—need more than ever.
